I work with children daily, it can be difficult to understand children that cannot communicate with their voice. I have to look the child in the eyes and try to understand their wants and needs without hearing them talk. The children use gestures to show when they are happy such as: laughing and smiling. The children also, use gestures when they are sad such as: crying and frowning. It is important for me to understand these gestures so, I can figure out what the child needs. It is extremely important to understand nonverbal communication when it comes to children because children can become frustrated when they do not get what they want.

This is very interesting!
ReplyDeleteThat pretty interesting and cool to know
ReplyDeleteI also use a lot of nonverbal communication in my job, despite having very different jobs. It's cool that we use nonverbal communication almost anywhere we go.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder how frustrating it must be to know what you what but not have the words yet to express that. No wonder children experience "big feelings" so often! Great idea for a blog post!
