Excuses

Definition: an attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify

The best excuses:

1) Demonstrate your understanding of the problem AND the other person's feelings.

2) You acknowledge your responsibility in the situation.

3) You acknowledge your own displeasure in what you did.

4) You will make it clear that you will not repeat the same mistake

5) Now apologize

My favorite excuses that I have used:

I didn't do it: I would blame my older brother for everything. If I ate all the gushers before dinner, I would blame it on my older brother.

It wasn't bad: If I broke something in the house I would admit and after that, I would say it wasn't that bad. Meaning it can be fixed.

Yes but: To take the blame off of me, when I get in trouble I would say to my mom, yes but, my older brother did this which is way worse.

Tom Hanks:

The importance of not being boring in a conversation. A story gap is to raise a burning question in a reader’s mind. Tom earns the audience's attention by delivering information fast enough. Tom uses verbal and nonverbal communication to draw people to his attention. Tom uses nonverbal gestures to catch the audience's attention and give enjoyment to others. Gestures help conversations be more lively. Dynamics are changing the tone of the conversation. Dynamics create conversations that are more exciting. Including more people in the conversation, it becomes more interesting.

Working at daycare envy is shown through the day. The children envy each other when they want another child's toy. The children fight over toys all the time. We try to move the child out of certain situations and distract them when they start getting aggressive over toys.

Jealousy

Definition: Jealousy is the emotion when you fear you may be replaced in the affection of someone you love or desire.

I went through sixteen years of being the youngest child. I would get all the attention from my parents. When my mom told me she was pregnant, I was excited but afraid of losing my parents' attention. I was jealous because I heard that you lose all of the attention being the middle child. I am happy to say, I still have a good relationship with my parents and I got an amazing little brother out of it.
